PATAGONIAN EXPEDITION RACE 2012 - Join us for our 10th anniversary!
Decades of exploring the vast wilderness of Chilean Patagonia, innumerable explorations and nine previous events have led us to the 10th Anniversary of the PATAGONIAN EXPEDITION RACE. 600 kilometers of adventure! This upcoming edition will amaze competitors, spectators, attending journalists and race staff more than ever before. It will take 20 carefully selected international teams over unnamed mountains, through narrow fjords and along imposing glaciers before finishing at the southernmost point of the Americas, Cape Horn. Yes, Cape Horn!
The 2012 course will begin by returning the race to its birthplace, Tierra del Fuego, before embarking on the most breathtaking route in the race’s history. As racers follow in the footsteps of the first explorers of the region they will cross the Wildlife Conservation Society’s 300,000ha reserve called “Karukinka”, the Darwin Range, the Beagle Channel and much more of unknown land, before finishing just 650 kilometers north of Antarctica. This route plans to provide spectacular scenery and unprecedented obstacles as teams fight their way to the end of the world.
Mark your calendars for February 14, 2012! We hope you plan on joining us and supporting our conservation efforts as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. The registration process will open on Monday May 30th, 2011.
